Mukteshwar Tourism

Mukteshwar is a small town and beautiful tourist place in Nainital district of Uttarakhand. In the Kumaon hills of Uttarakhand, it is situated at the height of 2286 meters (7500 feet) from the sea level. Mukteshwar gets its name from a 350 yrs old temple of Lord Shiva, which is known “Mukteshwar Dham”, situated at the highest point in the town. You can watch snow capped mountains range of Himalaya from the temple. Mukteshwar was developed by Britishers in 1893 as educational institute (IVRI) Indian Veterinary Research Institute. Mukteshwar is an ideal destination for weekend tours from Delhi or nearby areas. Tourist can find easily best resorts and hotels there, KMVN also operate a guest house there which can be booked from Delhi also.

Watch the hide and seek play of mountains with clouds during the trekking tour in Kumaon hills. All the major mountain ranges like Neelkantha Parvat, Trishul Parvat, Nanda Devi, Nandaghunti and Panchuli Peaks are visible from Mukteshwar. You can enjoy the opportunities of rock climbing and rappelling at Chauli ki Jaali with the excellent view of valleys. How to Reach

Tourists can easily reach Mukteshwar by road, by air OR by train. The nearest airport is Pant Nagar and nearest railway station is Kathgodam which is around 65 kms from the town. You can take a taxi from here to reach the Mukteshwar. Mukteshwar is well connected with all the neighbouring towns; it’s just 51 kms away from Nainital and 42 kms from Haldwani.

The distance from Delhi to Mukteshwar is around 350 kms, which is around 7-8 hours journey if you are traveling by your own vehicle. You can reach Mukteshwar from Delhi via Hapur-Moradabad-Rudrapur-Kathgodam-Bhimtal.
